What happens if an older parent collapses at home, in hospital or in a care home — and the family disagrees about whether CPR should be attempted?

Hong Kong's new law on Advance Medical Directives and Do-Not-Attempt CPR Orders comes into operation on 31 July 2026. It will affect how families, doctors, care homes and professionals approach some of the most difficult later-life medical decisions.
